The next objective is to correct Agni (digestive fire) using deepana and pachana herbs (carminatives) like shunti (dry ginger), ayamodaka (carom seeds), kasthumbari (coriander), and pipali (long pepper).

After these initial steps, the focus shifts to dhatu pushti kara ahara—nourishing foods that build vitality and strength. This category includes shashtika shali (Navara rice), mudga (green gram), amalaki, masha (black gram), ragi, masa rasa (meat soup), milk, and other protein-rich items. Galactogenic foods such as satavari (asparagus), coconut milk, fenugreek, shatakupa (dill seeds), yashti (licorice), goduma (wheat), and drumstick leaves are also advised.

A core principle of Ayurveda is that these strategies are administered with personalized attention to an individual's body constitution and specific condition.

Mother's digestive health is  also paramount.
